Lab Equipments

- Compressive strength test machine
It is a machine of the UTS brand, having a force capacity of 1500 KN. It needs to be calibrated once every year by concerned authorities of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). The machine is semi-automated whose imposed load can be observed from dial gage. Someone has to carry out hand calculations to get the actual compressive strength. By simple modification compressive strength of hollow blocks, paving clocks, kerb stones, concrete cylinders and parking tiles can be done by this single machine.
- Water absorption test chamber
In order to conduct the water absorption tests, we have three chambers for curing of the blocks in our lab. Temperature of the water is controlled strictly according to ASTM code with the help of an air conditioning system.
- Water evaporation furnace
For the evaporation of water in order to perform the water absorption test, an Automated furnace is available at the laboratory. Temperature upto 200 degree celsius can be raised by this machine. By simple modification, a heat resistance test can also be carried out by this machine.
- Standard sieves
To check the quality of raw materials, standard sieves according to the code of ASTM are available at the laboratory.
